“The Ossia Symphony Orchestra (OSO) is a relative newcomer to the New York music scene though already it is at home both in the spotlight on stage and in the classrooms of inner-city schools.”– The New York Times
Founded in 2009, the OSO performs four to six concerts a year in concert halls located throughout New York City. Each year the OSO brings us some of the world’s most expressive music and the most talented musicians together for a season of exciting live concert experiences. The orchestra’s rich and thoughtful variety of programming invites audience members to discover musical worlds that are both new and old, and driven by emotion, adventure, and imagination. Soloists such as Paquito D’Rivera, Paula Robison, Theo Bleckmann, Juana Zayas and Lara St. John have joined the orchestra in performances that are consistently invigorating, satisfying and arresting – and, what the OSO has planned for the future will continue to astonish!
The OSO fulfills its mission through its performance season and its Music in the Heights Educational Series at the George Washington Educational Campus in Washington Heights where thousands of kids get to first hand experience the symphonic tradition.
